Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 20998, dated June 21, 2022, the Legislature awarded a twelve-month term and supply contract, with one twelve-month option to extend, for the furnishing of consulting services for the County's health, life, vision, and dental benefits for use countywide to CBIZ Benefits of Kansas City, MO under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposals (RFP) 42-21; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature has indicated a desire to rebid the County's health and benefits programs in time for open enrollment in November 2024; and,

WHEREAS, the current contract for the County's broker and consultant for health benefits expires June 30, 2024, and the time needed to rebid this contract, evaluate the bids, and submit a recommendation for legislative approval would require about three months; and,

WHEREAS, the Directors of Finance and Purchasing and Human Resources recommend a twelve-month extension to the contract with CBIZ Benefits to June 30, 2025, to provide sufficient time for the consultant to assist with the health insurance bid process, to be ready by late summer 2024; and,
WHEREAS, a twelve-month extension to the contract with CBIZ Benefits of Kansas City, MO, under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposals 42-21 is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
