Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19996, dated October 1, 2018, the Legislature did award a contract for the processing of on-line credit card payments for the Collection Department to PayIt, LLC, of Kansas City, MO; and,

WHEREAS, the Recorder of Deeds Department has requested to participate in this agreement to accept credit card payments, and discontinue its existing agreement Elavon Merchant Services; and,

WHEREAS, PayIt, LLC, will provide card machines and annual maintenance free of charge to the department; and,

WHEREAS, a convenience and processing fee will be assessed to any customer who chooses to make a payment using a credit card; and,

WHEREAS, the regular recording and marriage license fees will continue to be collected by the Recorder of Deeds Department; and,

WHEREAS, under this contract, taxpayers will pay an administrative fee of $1.25 for each ACH (electronic check) and 2.7% per credit card transaction, with no charge to the County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to execute an appropriate addendum to the existing PayIt credit card agreement and any other documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
