Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17797, dated January 23, 2012, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an agreement with Connections for Success, Inc., of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, to serve as manager for the Jackson County Constructing Futures Program, for a period ending December 31, 2012, at a cost to the County in the amount of $20,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Constructing Futures Program is a unique public-private partnership designed to provide a structured pathway to allow former drug offenders to enter the construction industry, while providing permanent housing to those in need; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff has recommended that the County Executive be authorized to extend the existing agreement with Connections for Success for the Constructing Futures Program, through December 31, 2013, at no additional cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the recommended extension will allow Connections for Success to utilize the balance of the allocation provided to it in 2012; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an extension to the agreement with Connections for Success, through December 31, 2013, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement, as extended.
