Body
WHEREAS, following the February 2019 flood event, numerous repairs were needed in Kansas City Courthouse judges' chambers; and,
WHEREAS, the work was performed by Rand Construction, a County term and supply vendor, and a portion of Rand's two invoices are anticipated to be covered by insurance, with the larger portion being the responsibility of the County; and,
WHEREAS, Servpro Construction, retained under an emergency declaration, was contracted to perform air quality testing at the courthouse to determine if it was safe for employees to return to work after the flooding event; and,
WHEREAS, Servpro performed the testing work along with the cleaning of two floors not affected by the flood; and,
WHEREAS, Travelers Insurance denied coverage on the invoice submitted by Servpro, leaving the County responsible for that invoice; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to cover these invoices; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2019 General Fund:
