Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office has a continuing need for surplus asset liquidation and/or auction services to dispose of items seized or recovered in the course of its duties; and,
WHEREAS, by law these items need to be disposed of via sale or auction and a contract is recommended to allow for the items to be picked up from the Sheriff’s Office and sold on a website in lots or individually; and,
WHEREAS, the recommended vendor will transport the property to its facility to be auctioned online and retain a percentage of the proceeds, with the remaining funds distributed as required by law, resulting in no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract for the furnishing of these services to Property Room.com, of Frederick, MD, under the terms and conditions of National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) Contract No. 041316-PRC, an existing government contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Director recommends award under section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of discounts offered to large entities; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to use any services; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made under the existing government contract as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award...Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
