Body
WHEREAS, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), the administrator of the region's call emergency telephone system, has recommended the purchase of automated abandoned 911 call-back software for use by the Kansas City Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, this software will automatically call back any caller to 911 who subsequently hangs-up or abandons the call; and,
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Police Department has a need to use technology to offset its continued difficulty in hiring and retaining 911 dispatchers; and,
WHEREAS, MARC managed the software's procurement to insure that the technology is consistent across the metropolitan area; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make a payment to MARC for purchase of automated abandoned 911 call-back software, for use by the Kansas City Police Department, in the amount of $120,645.00.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
