A RESOLUTION authorizing the Chair of the County Legislature to execute a five-year Lease Agreement for lease of office space for use by the Jackson County Legislature and Jackson County Clerk's Office with Lex, LLC, of Independence, MO, under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposals No. 24-019, at a monthly cost to the County of $5,309.50 and in the amount of $63,714.00 annually.

Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing solicited proposals on Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 24-019 for rental of required office space; and,
WHEREAS, notifications were distributed and no responses were received and evaluated; and,
WHEREAS, as a result, negotiations occurred with Lex, LLC of Independence, MO, the current landlord, for a new lease term for rental office space currently occupied by the Legislature and County Clerk; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a five-year lease to Lex LLC, under the terms and conditions of RFP No. 24-019; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made as recommended by the Director Finance and Purchasing and that the director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County the attached Lease Agreement and any other documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the lease, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are available in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
