AN ORDINANCE transferring $4,998,014.00 within the 2021 CARES Act Fund and appropriating $4,998,014.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 American Rescue Plan Fund to change the funding source for the current allocation to the University of Missouri- Kansas City, to provide health services and aid vaccination efforts in east Kansas City.

Body
WHEREAS, via Ordinance 5506, dated May 10, 2021 the Legislature previously authorized a Cooperative Agreement with University of Missouri- Kansas City (UMKC) and community partners using federal CARES Act funds to establish and undertake the Our Healthy KC Eastside (OHKCE) project to promote and deliver widespread COVID-19 vaccinations and other health services within Kansas City's most socially vulnerable community until December 31, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, since the adoption of Ordinance 5506, UMKC has requested the funding source for the OHKCE project be switched from the CARES Act Fund to the new American Rescue Plan Fund to take advantage of the longer permissible performance period for funding available under the American Rescue Plan Act; and,
WHEREAS, the adoption of this Ordinance will extend UMKC's time to complete the OHKCE project until June 30, 2022; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
