AN ORDINANCE appropriating $2,000,000.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2021 American Rescue Plan Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the Metropolitan Community College District at a cost to the County not to exceed $2,000,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the funding provided by this appropriation will support the Metropolitan Community College District's (MCC) workforce training for disadvantaged communities in industries vital to the economic recovery of the Kansas City metro area by allowing MCC to approve various training equipment items; and,
WHEREAS, workforce training will be provided in industries that include but are not limited to commercial drivers and trucking licenses, construction, manufacturing, and public safety; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation and the execution of an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement for this purpose, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with MCC, in a form to be approved by County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
