Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has a continuing need for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment; and,
WHEREAS, a total of forty notifications of the need for these services were distributed and five responses were received and evaluated; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the contract for the furnishing of heavy equipment maintenance and repair be split and awarded to American Equipment of Kansas City, KS, Romaine Electric of Kansas City, MO, KC Wholesale of Oak Grove, MO, Viking-Cives of Grain Valley, MO, and Summit Truck of Kansas City, MO; and,
WHEREAS, a split award is recommended to ensure the broadest availability of service and replacement parts for the various brands and types of equipment used by the Department; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award and any extensions; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have been made in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
