Body
WHEREAS, the County has a need for small arms ammunition for use by the Sheriff's Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department's Park Safety and Enforcement Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the Finance and Purchasing Department has bid this contract in the past and has not received competitive or complete bids; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Missouri's contract with Gulf States Distributors of Montgomery, AL, offers a large selection of ammunition for the law enforcement agencies to choose from and offers higher discounts on pricing than the County would be able to obtain with its own bid; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department's Park Safety and Enforcement Unit all recommend taking advantage of this state contract; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract, with one twelve-month option to extend, for the furnishing of ammunition to Gulf States Distributors of Montgomery, AL, under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC200147001, an existing competitively bid government contract; and,
