Body

 WHEREAS, by Resolution 18693, dated December 15, 2014, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, and the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, c/o John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Center for Crime Prevention and Control, for use by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s No Violence Alliance Project, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $33,334.00, for the period of July 12, 2014, through December 31, 2015; and,

 

WHEREAS, by Resolution 19441, dated March 27, 2017, the Legislature did authorize the extension of the MOA through April 15, 2017, at an additional cost to the County in the amount of $15,000.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended that the County Executive be authorized to execute a Second Amendment to the MOA to extend the agreement from January 1, 2016, through March 31, 2018, at no additional cost to the County; and,

 

WHEREAS, the recommended extension will modify the portion of the MOA related to research conducted by the City of Kansas City; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Second Amendment to the MOA with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, and the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, c/o John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Center for Crime Prevention and Control.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
