WHEREAS, by Resolution 18693, dated December 15, 2014, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, and the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, c/o John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Center for Crime Prevention and Control, for use by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office’s No Violence Alliance Project, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $33,334.00, for the period of July 12, 2014, through December 31, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended that the County Executive be authorized to execute a First Addendum to the MOA to extend the agreement from January 1, 2016, through April 15, 2017, at an additional cost to the County in the amount of $15,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the recommended extension and increase in funding will allow the Kansas City Police Department to complete its research portion of this project; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a First Addendum to the MOA with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, and the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, c/o John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Center for Crime Prevention and Control; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement and addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
