RESOLUTION NO. 19329, December 5, 2016

Body

 WHEREAS, by Resolution 17650, dated August 22, 2011, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, to provide for the extension of the Little Blue Trace Trail between Lee's Summit Road and Longview Lake; and,

 

WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4793, dated November 9, 2015, the Legislature did appropriate funds in the amount of $675,000.00 received from the City of Kansas City, Missouri, to cover the costs of its portion of the Little Blue Trace Trail Extension, Phase One, Project No. 3208; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 11-2016 for this project; and,

 

WHEREAS, notifications were distributed through advertisement and online posting and nine responses were received and evaluated, with the four lowest and best bids as follows:

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends that award be made to Pyramid Contractors, Inc., of Raytown, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,

 

WHEREAS, Pyramid Contractors has agreed that this project will be completed under a five percent DBE/WBE/MBE goal; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works requests authorization to execute any change orders up to $38,726.15, as a five percent contingency to deal with any unforeseen issues that may arise in the performance of this contract; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to make adjustments in the contract line item quantities up to the five percent contingency allocated; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
