Body
WHEREAS, the County presently owns and holds for public use certain lands within the City limits of the City of Kansas City in connection with the County's Little Blue Trace Park; and,
WHEREAS, the County and the City of Kansas City, Missouri ("City") desire to enter into a partnership to extend the Little Blue Trace Trail in several segments between Lee's Summit Road and Longview Lake; and,
WHEREAS, a Cooperative Agreement with the City will define the responsibilities of each entity in the planning, funding, construction, and maintenance of the trail extension; and,
WHEREAS, this agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
