Body
WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff recommends sponsorship of the Kansas City Pythons Planet Rock Drill Team competition, a local non-profit organization with a long history of support at COMBAT events; and,
WHEREAS, the Planet Rock Drill Team competition will bring approximately 3,000 spectators to the event to be held at the refurbished Interscholastic League Field House located at 63rd and Swope Parkway in Kansas City, MO; and,
WHEREAS, sponsorship of this event will promote COMBAT's "Don't Look the Other Way" anti-violence initiative; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to issue a check to the Kansas City Pythons Drill Team, in the amount of $500.00 for sponsorship of the Planet Rock Drill Team competition to be held April 11, 2015.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
