Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Commission has recommended COMBAT sponsor the 9th Annual International Bullying Prevention Association (IBPA) Conference, to be held in Kansas City, Missouri November 4 - 6, 2012, at a cost to the County not to exceed $1,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, the IBPA conference will provide professional development opportunities for those involved in bullying prevention; and,
WHEREAS, this sponsorship will allow COMBAT to support quality research-based bullying prevention principles and best practices in order to achieve a safe school climate, healthy work environment, and good citizenship, all goals within the COMBAT mission to reduce violent crime in the community; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to issue a check to the International Bullying Prevention Association, in the amount of $1,500.00 for sponsorship of the 9th Annual International Bullying Prevention Association (IBPA) Conference to be held November 4 - 6, 2012.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
