Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited bids under Bid No. 47-04 for the furnishing of crushed rock for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period; and,

WHEREAS, out of seventeen invitations to bid, only two responsive bids were received from the following:
VENDOR GRAND TOTAL OF COMPARABLE ITEMS

Barber & Sons Aggregate $64.50 per ton
Lee's Summit, MO

Damon Pursell Construction Co. $85.00 per ton
Liberty, MO

and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Barber & Sons Aggregates of Lee's Summit, MO, in an estimated amount not to exceed $350,000.00 for the reason that it has submitted the best bid; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director to Barber & Sons Aggregates of Lee's Summit, MO, in an estimated amount not to exceed $350,000.00, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.
