A RESOLUTION congratulating Dalene Bradford upon her retirement from the Housing Resources Commission Board, and wishing her success in all future endeavors.

Body
WHEREAS, Dalene Bradford, Community Activist, will retire from the Housing Resources Commission Board of Directors after many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Dalene was appointed to the first Jackson County Housing Resources Commission on April 4, 1991; and,
WHEREAS, although appointed to a four-year term, she has served tirelessly for twelve years assisting Jackson County with successfully implementing programs to meet the needs of the homeless; and,
WHEREAS, she received a degree in Education from Auburn University and a masters from UMKC; and,
WHEREAS, she worked as a Reading, Speech and Theatre Teacher in public schools for 11 years; and,
WHEREAS after leaving the classroom she became an Associate Director of the Learning Exchange; and,
WHEREAS, due to her interest in the delivery of Social Services to those in need, she served as Manager of Charitable Assets at the Greater KC Community Foundation for 15 years; and,
WHEREAS, she currently serves on the Board of Powell Garden Foundation and is now the Managing Director of Community Foundation of America; and,
WHEREAS, continuing a life-long interest in film and theatre, she chairs the Film Commission of KC, and volunteers at performances at the Folly Theatre; and,
WHEREAS, in 1993, she received the Business Journal's "Up and Comers Award"; and,
WHEREAS, she has been married to Glenn for 32 years and has one son - Hunter; and,
WHEREAS, Dalene displayed professionalism and exemplary service during her tenure with the Housing Resources Commission Board and deserves the highest praise and recognition f...
