A RESOLUTION awarding a one year contract on Bid No. 107-00 for furnishing property insurance coverage to Marsh USA, Inc., of Kansas City, MO, for the period of October 1, 2000, to September 30, 2001, in the estimated annual premium amount of $235,500.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 107-00 for the furnishing of property insurance coverage for the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director distributed a total of fifty-four (54) invitations to bid and eight (8) responses were received of which six (6) were deemed non-responsive; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the only two responsive bids thereon, bids from the following:
VENDOR BID (Estimated Annual Premium)
Corporate Insurance Group, Inc. $235,000.00
Overland Park, KS
Marsh USA, Inc. $235,500.00
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO
and,
WHEREAS, he has recommended that award be made to Corporate Insurance Group, Inc., of Overland Park, KS, for the reason that it has in his opinion submitted the lowest and best bid; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made to Marsh USA, Inc., for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid as determined by the Legislature and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
