Body
WHEREAS, Parks + Rec Department has a priority to connect the Rock Island Trail and Little Blue Trace Trail; and,
WHEREAS, the construction of a 10-foot-wide concrete non-motorized transportation facility with improvements to include concrete pavement, micro surfacing, pavement repair, signing, striping erosion control, fencing, storm drainage, grading, slope stabilization, and rock base support will be needed to establish the trail; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 24-098 for the construction of this project; and,
WHEREAS, a total of two (2) responses were received and evaluated from the following:

Radmacher Brothers Excavating, Inc.
Pleasant Hill, MO
$5,661,180.45
and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Directors of Finance and Purchasing and Parks + Rec recommend award for the construction of bridge improvements to MegaKC Corporation Kansas City, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Parks + Rec be authorized to approve said line item adjustments, to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
