Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13514, dated January 16, 2001, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute an agreement with Black Chamber of Commerce to partially fund certain programs to assist minority contractors, at a cost to the County not to exceed $15,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, due to breakdown in communications between County and Chamber staffs, the Agreement authorized by Resolution 13514 was never executed; and,
WHEREAS, the County and Black Chamber of Commerce, now desire to enter into an Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, whereunder the County will pay $30,000.00 to the Chamber, to be used to help fund certain programs to assist minority contractors for the years 2001 and 2002; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fully fund this Agreement, a reappropriation of the unspent 2001 funding is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this reappropriation as an amendment to her 2002 proposed annual County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following reappropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 General Fund be and hereby is made:
