Body
WHEREAS, the County has been collecting real property taxes and special assessments for the City of Lone Jack under a Consolidated Tax Billing and Collection Agreement since 1982; and,
WHEREAS, the City has now requested that the County begin to collect the City's personal property taxes as well; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Collection recommends that the County undertake the collection of these taxes; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Consolidated Tax Billing and Collection Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement this arrangement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the Consolidated Tax Bill and Collection Agreement with the City of Lone Jack, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
