WHEREAS, Rosie Bell (Spencer) Williams will celebrate her 100th birthday on June 3, 2003; and,
WHEREAS, Rosie has been a member of the St. Stephen Baptist Church for the past 50 years and she has been involved in numerous community and church events; and,
WHEREAS, before moving to Kansas City and becoming a great homemaker, she worked as a professional seamstress, dietary counselor, and mentor to many young people in the St. Louis area; and,
WHEREAS, she raised eight children, with four still surviving; and,
WHEREAS, she has 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Rosie is well known for having a great sense of humor; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Rosie Bell (Spencer) Williams upon celebrating her 100th birthday.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
