Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5058, dated November 28, 2017, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a program agreement with the Missouri Department of Social Services for the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5808, dated November 6, 2023, the Legislature did grant an extension of the program agreement with the Missouri Department of Social Services for the VOCA grant; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5890, dated October 14, 2024, the Legislature did grant an extension of the program agreement with the Missouri Department of Social Services for the VOCA grant; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5973, dated June 18, 2025, the Legislature did grant an extension of the program agreement with the Missouri Department of Social Services for the VOCA grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney is requesting a three-month extension of the VOCA grant that was awarded to the County by the Missouri Department of Social Services with a grant term of April 1, 2025, through June 30, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, this extension will provide for continued funding for the salaries of six victim advocates through the expiration date of June 30, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the grant funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Grant Fund:
