Body
WHEREAS, Francis A. "Frank" Quinn was recently selected as"Labor's Representative of the Year" by the Labor's Educational & Political Club Independent because of the outstanding work he has accomplished in his profession over the last 35 years; and;

WHEREAS, Frank was born the youngest of three children to Irish-American parents on September 24, 1943; and,

WHEREAS, Frank and his siblings were raised with a strong sense of right and wrong, and instilled with a strong work ethic; and,

WHEREAS, Frank followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a pipe fitter, while his brother and sister both followed religious callings; and,

WHEREAS, he received his early education at Redemptorist School, and went on to attend DeLaSalle High School, graduating in 1961; and,

WHEREAS, he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving from April 1962 - August 1966, including service in Vietnam for a year starting in the summer of 1964; and,

WHEREAS, in 1967, Frank began a five-year pipe fitters' apprenticeship training program, which was the start of his long career in labor and his dedication to the men and women of labor; and,

WHEREAS, he served as Business Representative of Local Union # 533 for four years before becoming Business Manager, a position he has held for the past 11 ½ years; and,

WHEREAS, he serves as head of the Pipe Fitters' Joint Apprenticeship Committee, and currently serves on the Local Union # 533 Executive Board and the...
