Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase express and ground small package shipping services for use countywide, to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends the purchase from United Parcel Service of Earth City, MO, under an existing State of Missouri government contract, No. C304070001; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984 requires, that for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchase under the existing government contract be made to United Parcel Service of Earth City, MO, in an estimated aggregate amount not to exceed $15,000.00 as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract thereby made.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
