Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3315, dated November 4, 2002, the Legislature set the date for submission of the County Executive's recommended 2003 County budget for December 16, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, the Manager of the Division of Finance has advised that additional time would be beneficial in making late adjustments necessary to balance the budget; and,
WHEREAS, inasmuch as the budget is not required to be finally adopted until January 31, 2003, an extension of the filing of the recommended budget until January 6, 2003, is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the time by which the County Executive shall submit the recommended budget for fiscal year 2003 to the Legislature be and hereby is extended until January 6, 2003.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
