IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
A RESOLUTION expressing the intent of the Legislature that funds appropriated in the 2003 annual County budget for employee salary increases be awarded on a percentage basis, across-the-board, as a cost-of-living increase.
Intro
RESOLUTION # 14444, February 10, 2003
INTRODUCED BY Ronald E. Finley, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, the 2003 annual County budget, currently pending before the Legislature as Ordinance 3336 will almost certainly appropriate funds to be used for employee salary increases; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that the fairest way to allocate these funds among the County's work force is across-the-board, giving every employee the same percentage increase, to partially compensate for increases in the cost-of-living; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that, except as otherwise required by a current memorandum of understanding with an employee labor organization, it is the intent of the Legislature that all funds contained in the 2003 County budget for employee salary increases be awarded on a percentage basis, across-the-board, with all employees receiving the same percentage increase, to partially compensate all employees for increases in the cost-of-living.
