A RESOLUTION extending the time for assessment of real and personal property in Jackson County, Missouri, from May 15, 2004, to May 31, 2004.

INTRODUCED BY Ronald E. Finley, County Legislator

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, section 137.335, RSMo 2000, requires the County Assessor, or corresponding officer in Jackson County, the Chief Financial Officer, to complete the assessment list of real and personal property for tax purposes by May 15 of each year; and,

 

WHEREAS, said requirement may be extended for good cause shown to May 31 by order of the governing body of the County; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has informed the Legislature that, due to the volume of assessments necessary, the 2004 assessment list may not be completed prior to May 15; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Chief Financial Officer be and hereby is granted until May 31, 2004, to complete the 2004 assessment list of real and tangible personal property in the County.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
