RESOLUTION 13565, February 12, 2001

INTRODUCED BY Ronald E. Finley, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, section 141.750.2, RSMo 1994, authorizes the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to convey title in fee simple for consideration less than two-thirds of the appraised value of a property, after the consent of at least two of the Trustees' appointing authorities; and,

WHEREAS, the Trustees have recommended that Lots 95 and 96 of Dunbar Park, located on Bellefontaine, be conveyed to Lengthecul J. Buford, Sr. for a nominal fee because the parcel of land is adjacent to Mr. Buford's property and because the land is of little value to anyone else other than Mr. Buford, in that the land is sloped and has a failing retaining wall on it that may create a hazard to anyone using the land; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Buford owns the land adjacent to this land and has agreed to maintain and improve the property by filling in the sloped land with dirt, thereby making the land useful for other purposes which would benefit the community as a whole; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Land

Trust Trustees be allowed to convey Dunbar Park, Lots 95 & 96 to Lengthecul J. Buford, Sr. for an amount of less than two-thirds of market value; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Land Trust Trustees are hereby authorized to execute any and all necessary documents to effect the necessary conveyance.
