AN ORDINANCE appropriating $8,760.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2000 Grant Fund to cover the Martin Luther King, Jr., Youth Day Celebration grant funded by the United States Corporation of National Service, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a contract with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, at a cost to the County not to exceed $8,760.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) jointly applied for a grant from the United States Corporation of National Service to support the SCLC's Martin Luther King, Jr., Youth Day Celebration; and,
WHEREAS, the Corporation for National Service awarded the grant in the amount of $8,760.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds have been received by the County and an appropriation and contract are necessary to pay them over to the SCLC; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2000 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
