Body
WHEREAS, Lisa White Hardwick was first appointed to the Jackson County Legislature to replace Claire McCaskill in 1993; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Hardwick later was elected in 1994 and re-elected in 1998 to the Legislature representing the 2nd District at Large; and,

WHEREAS, while serving on the Legislature, Ms. Hardwick served as Chairman of the Rules Committee in 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, and 1998, Anti-Drug Committee in 1994 and 1995, and Public Works Committee in 1999; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Hardwick also served as Vice Chairman of the Legislature in 1995 and a member of the Finance and Audit Committee in 1993, 1996, and 1997, and the Anti-Drug Committee in 1993, 1996, and 1997; and,

WHEREAS, as Chairman of the Anti-Drug Committee, Ms. Hardwick was instrumental in sponsoring legislation appropriating more than $15 million dollars annually for anti-drug programs; and,

WHEREAS, as Chairman of the Rules Committee, Ms. Hardwick led the development of new procedural rules and personnel policies for the Legislature; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Hardwick serves numerous community, legal, and political organizations, including Kansas City Royals Charities, Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Little Blue Valley Sewer District, Lawyers Association of Kansas City, Jackson County Bar Association, Freedom, Inc., and Committee for County Progress; and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Hardwick has also distinguished herself as the recipient of many awards, including Ingram Magazine's 40 Under 40 Power Elite recogni...
