AN ORDINANCE appropriating $9,378.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2014 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund in acceptance of additional funds for the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant awarded to the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and authorizing the County Executive to execute amended grant documents with the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4675, dated October 13, 2014, the Legislature did authorize the acceptance of grant funds for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant Grant (JAG) from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, in the amount of $244,759.80 for the period July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, the JAG program is administered by the Missouri Department of Public Safety; and,
WHERAS, the Missouri Department of Public Safety was amended the grant agreement and authorized an additional allocation of grant funds in the amount of $9,378.00, for use by the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, the additional grant proceeds will be used for the lease of vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the grant funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2014 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:
