Body
WHEREAS, the County and The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) desire to enter into an agreement, a copy which is attached hereto, whereunder the County would provide funding in the amount of $1,500 to NCCJ to be used to pay certain costs of its "Walk as One" Walk-a-thon to promote unity and diversity and to fight against bigotry; and,
WHEREAS, this agreement is in the best interest, health and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement with The National Conference for Community and Justice; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
