Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature has requested staff training and a workshop to build effective relationships among the Legislators, legislative staff, other County staff, and constituents; and,
WHEREAS, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, is qualified to provide these training and workshop services to the Legislature through the Government Training Institute (GTI), founded in 1996; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the GTI is to prepare government leaders that are striving to maintain and improve their leadership abilities and provide customized training workshops for the developmental needs of local government; and,
WHEREAS, MARC is an association of city and county governments working together to provide cohesive local government structure and, as such, is uniquely qualified to provide these training and workshop services through the GTI, at a cost to the County not to exceed $5,700.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairman of the Legislature be and hereby is authorized to execute a Training Program Agreement with MARC, at a cost to the County not to exceed $5,700.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the Agreement.
