A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Bid No. PW 02-2021 for the 2021 Pavement Maintenance Project (Phase 2, Preservation Surface Treatments), Project No. 3249, to Vance Brothers, Inc., of Kansas City, MO, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $358,737.00, and authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve line item adjustments under this contract at no additional cost to the County.

Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 02-2021 for the 2021 Pavement Maintenance Project (Phase 2, Preservation Surface Treatments), Project No. 3249, for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, notifications were distributed through advertisement and online posting and one response was received from the following:
BIDDER BID AMOUNT
Vance Brothers, Inc. $358,736.15
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO
and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends the award of the contract to Vance Brothers, Inc., for the reason that it submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line item adjustments to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to make adjustments in the contract line item quantities to the extent that there will be no further funding obligation to the County; and,
