Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution #13835, dated October 1, 2001, a contract was awarded to Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife Insurance Company) on Bid No. 91-01 for the furnishing of group life insurance for use countywide for a three year period beginning 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife Insurance Company) has proposed an additional two-year period of coverage at the current rates which were previously approved in Resolution 13835; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources recommends that a contract with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife Insurance Company) be awarded for an additional two-year period as provided in the terms and conditions of Bid No. 91-01; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that a contract with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife Insurance Company) be awarded for an additional two-year period as provided in the terms and conditions of Bid No. 91-01 at the rates previously approved in Resolution 13835, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
