Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 14052, dated March 4, 2002, the County and National Baptist Convention U.S.A., Inc., did enter into an Agreement, whereunder the County paid $10,000.00 to the Convention, to be used for partial funding of its 2003 annual delegate convention in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the County funding was specifically used to design and provide a convention brochure to highlight and publicize the attractions of the Kansas City/Jackson County area to the convention's 35,000 plus potential delegates; and,
WHEREAS, the Convention has now requested additional funding in the amount of $10,000.00 to pay the costs of a souvenir convention program for the Convention's attendees, which again publicized the attractions of Jackson County and Kansas City; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that an Addendum to Agreement for this additional funding is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the Addendum on behalf of the County, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement and Addendum thereto.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
