A RESOLUTION expressing the intent of the Legislature that benefits for the non-elected official members of the Jackson County, Missouri Employees' Pension Plan be reviewed prior to the adoption of the County's 2005 annual budget.

Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance 3432, recently adopted by the Legislature, provides a long-overdue increase in the level of benefits to members of the Jackson County Employees' Pension Plan who are also elected officials of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature also believes it to be appropriate that the level of benefits for the members of the Plan who are not elected officials be reviewed; and,
WHEREAS, the benefits for these members , the County employees and non-elected officials, have not been increased in many, many years; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby expresses its intent that a report from the Administration on the cost and the level of benefits for the members of the Jackson County Employees' Pension Plan who are not County elected officials will be presented to the Legislature by July 1, 2004 and reviewed by the Legislature prior to the adoption of the County's 2005 annual budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
