Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Jackson County Code section 9140. the Legislature may authorize by resolution a contract with one or more qualified experts to advise the Board of Equalization; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 9141. of the Jackson County Code the Legislative Auditor has heretofore prepared a request for proposals and has mailed same to potential, interested parties; and,

WHEREAS, the selection committee provided by section 9142. of the Jackson County Code, consisting of the Finance and Audit Committee and the Director of the Department of Finance, with the aid of Legislative Auditor, has solicited advisors and has recommended the retention of E. Gail McCann-Beatty and Mike Harmon to provide services as advisors to the Board of Equalization in accordance with the professional service agreements, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, at a cost to the County not to exceed the sum total of $15,000.00; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that said professional services agreements are approved, and the County Executive is authorized to execute the agreements on behalf of the County; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contracts.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
