AN ORDINANCE authorizing an increase in an amount not to exceed $30,000.00 to the original contract with Cochran, Head & Co., P.C. of Kansas City, MO, for the performance of an audit of the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund, and appropriating $30,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund, for a total revised cost to the County not to exceed $120,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3509, dated June 7, 2004, the County did enter into an agreement with Cochran, Head & Co., P.C. of Kansas City, MO to perform an audit of the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislative Auditor has recommended an increase to this contract in the amount of $30,000.00 to be disbursed as an amount not to exceed $27,500.00 for audit services and an amount not to exceed $2,500.00 for related expenses, as more specifically described in the attached, for a revised estimated total amount not to exceed to $120,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this expenditure, an appropriation is necessary; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Legislature be and hereby is authorized to execute an amendment to the contract with Cochran, Head, & Co., P.C., for an audit of the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund, at a cost to the County not to exceed $120,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
