Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Request for Qualifications 17-04, the County did solicit responses from qualified certified public accounting firms who might be interested in conducting a comprehensive outside audit of the County's Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund; and,
WHEREAS, three qualified firms responded to the RFQ; and,
WHEREAS, after careful evaluation of the responses received and personal interviews with two of the firms, the Finance and Audit Committee determined that Cochran, Head & Co., P.C., of Kansas City (Platte County), MO, was the firm best qualified to conduct this audit; and,
WHEREAS, the firm has agreed to conduct the audit in accordance with the RFQ and the attached proposal, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $90,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this expenditure, an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her proposed 2004 Jackson County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Legislature be and hereby is authorized to execute a contract with Cochran, Head, & Co., P.C., for an audit of the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund, at a cost to the County not to exceed $90,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
