A RESOLUTION rescinding Resolution 13326 dated August 28, 2000, and awarding contracts for the furnishing of computer equipment for use by the Collection Department to Worldwide Technology, Inc., of St. Louis, MO, under an existing government contract of the state of Missouri, in the actual amount of $11,081.56, and to Winchester Systems of Barington, MA, as a sole source purchase, in the actual amount of $29,204.00, for an actual aggregate cost to the County of $40,285.56.

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13326, dated August 28, 2000, the Legislature did approve the award of a contract for the furnishing of computer hardware and software for use by various County departments to G. E. Capital of St. Louis, MO, under an existing government contract of the state of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, due to a miscommunication among County departments, that resolution did not adequately describe the particular equipment actually required, which is specialized tax collection hardware and software for the Collection Department; and,
WHEREAS, County staff has now discovered that this equipment is no longer available from G. E. Capital as its state contract has expired; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing now recommends that Resolution 13326 be rescinded and that a contract for a portion of this equipment be awarded under §1040.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, to Worldwide Technology, Inc., of St. Louis, MO, in the actual amount of $11,081.56, under an existing government contract of the state of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the Director further recommends that a contract for the remainder of this equipment be awarded under §1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, to Winchester Systems of Barington, MA, in the actual amount of $29,204.00, as a sole source purchase, for the reason that Winchester Systems is the sole-supplier nationally of equipment compatible with the County's existing Winchester equipment; now therefore,
WHEREAS, §§1063. and 1064. of the Code require notification of and approval by the Legislature on such purchases in excess of $5,000; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award under the existing government contract and the sole source award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the awards; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution 13326 dated August 28, 2000, be and hereby is rescinded.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
