RESOLUTION 13637, March 26, 2001
INTRODUCED BY Ronald E. Finley, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, Section 141.750.2, RSMo 2000 authorizes the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to convey title in fee simple for consideration less than two-thirds of the appraised value of a property, after the consent of at least two of the Trustees' appointing authorities; and,
WHEREAS, the Trustees have recommended that certain properties in the urban core of Kansas City be conveyed to various public entities and neighborhood associations including K.C. Acquisitions, LLC, Housing and Economic Development Financial Corporation, KCATA, City of Kansas City, and Neighborhood Housing Services, for a nominal consideration, to support projects that upgrade and improve the neighborhoods and commercial districts in the urban core, and because the parcels of land are of value to Jackson County and the City of Kansas City in that the projects are likely to combat the occurrence of blight in the urban core; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kansas City, in Resolution No. 010144, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, has agreed to and passed a resolution supporting the conveyance of said seventy-five (75) properties; now therefore,
