WHEREAS, by Resolution 14262, dated July 15, 2002, the Legislature authorized twelve- month term and supply contracts with World Wide Technology of St. Louis, Missouri, Dell Marketing of Round Rock, Texas, Midwest Technology of Kansas City, Missouri, Hewlett Packard (Compaq) of Houston, Texas, and Gateway Computers of North Sioux City, South Dakota, under the State of New Mexico's Contract No. 90-00151 for the furnishing of miscellaneous computer hardware and software for use by the MIS department in the estimated aggregate amount of $653,050.00; and,
WHEREAS, as authorized by the contract, these contracts were subsequently extended until July 15, 2004, for all participating vendors with a subsequent extension until September 4, 2004, for Dell Marketing of Round Rock, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing has recommended increases to these contracts in the estimated aggregate amount of $1,703,834.50; and,
WHEREAS, these increases are necessary to meet Jackson County's technology needs for 2004; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the contracts with World Wide Technology of St. Louis, Missouri, Dell Marketing of Round Rock, Texas, Midwest Technology of Kansas City, Missouri, Hewlett Packard (Compaq) of Houston, Texas, and Gateway Computers of North Sioux City, South Dakota be and hereby are extended until September 4, 2004, at an increased estimated cost to the County of $1,703,834.50; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on these contracts, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the current County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
