Body
WHEREAS, New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) provided employee assistance to County Employees beginning in 2004; and,
WHEREAS, this program was approved by Resolution 14748, dated October 6, 2003; and,
WHEREAS, New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) services over a million persons nationwide and 200,000 in the Kansas City area; and,
WHEREAS, the New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) proposal for 2004 included a five percent (5 %) rate cap for the 2005 plan year and renewal at a five percent (5 %) increase in cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) will continue to provide up to 6 face to face counseling sessions, a live 24/7 help line, an interactive web site, up to 10 hours of on-site training, up to 10 hours of on-site critical incident crisis intervention, and unlimited telephonic management consultation to County employees; and,
WHEREAS, the County's health insurance brokers, CBIZ and the McDaniel Hazley Group, have recommended that the County continue to offer the New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) Employee Assistance Program to County employees at the following rate for the 2005 plan year:

therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH) for an employee assistance program as described above at a monthly rate of $1.92 per employee per month.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
