A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the AIDS Council of Greater Kansas City for funding of social services for persons with AIDS at a cost to the County not to exceed $65,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, AIDS has become a tremendous problem for our society; and,
WHEREAS, there are many people suffering without assistance; and,
WHEREAS, the AIDS Council provides help to those individuals who are suffering from this devastating disease; and,
WHEREAS, the County deems it to be in the best interest of its citizenry to support this program; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement (incorporated herein by reference) with the AIDS Council of Greater Kansas City; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
