A RESOLUTION congratulating Bishop James D. Tindall, Sr., upon celebrating his 27th pastoral anniversary with the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ.

RESOLUTION # 14806, November 24, 2003

Body

WHEREAS, Bishop James D. Tindall, Sr., is celebrating his 27th pastoral anniversary with the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall was born in Kansas City, MO, on June 6, 1942, to Wallace and Lottie Tindall; and,

 

WHEREAS, he attended W.W. Yates Elementary School and graduated from Manual High School in 1960; and,

 

WHEREAS, as a child, Bishop Tindall often visited Metropolitan Spiritual Church with his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Rowe; and,

 

WHEREAS, he joined the church and became very active in sunday school, later serving on the Trustee Board and as business manager for the "Voices of Exodus;" and,

 

WHEREAS, his love for God and thirst for knowledge prompted Bishop Tindall to pursue a degree in Theology from Caver Bible College; and,

WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall was ordained a minister in July 1976 by Revered Clarence H. Cobbs and appointed pastor of the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ; and,

 

WHEREAS, he also attended broadcasting school and became a radio announcer in charge of gospel music for KPRS/KPRT; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall is the husband of Frances L. Tindall, a devoted father of six children, and the best grandfather of fifteen grandchildren; and,

 

WHEREAS, he is committed to the community and has served on numerous community and civic organizations; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall served the community as a Jackson County legislator for thirteen years, six of those years as chairman; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tindall is a trooper and a true advocate for justice, who loves people and works in the best interest of the church and the community, and a great fisherman to boot; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Bishop James D. Tindall, Sr., upon celebrating his 27th pastoral anniversary with the Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
