Title

A RESOLUTION authorizing the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County, Missouri to convey one (1) parcel of real property located in Sugar Creek, Jackson County, Missouri and one (1) parcel of real property located in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri for support of various projects for the upgrading and redevelopment of the urban core in accordance with § 141.750.0 RSMo, 2000.

Body

WHEREAS, Section 141.750.2, RSMo 2000, authorizes the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to convey title in fee simple, for consideration less than two-thirds of the appraised value of a property, only after the consent of at least two of the Trustees' appointing authorities; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Trustees have recommended that certain properties in the urban core be conveyed to the City of Sugar Creek, Missouri, and Lamberto Aguirre to support the implementation of strategies to curb blight within the urban core; and,

 

WHEREAS, the County has undertaken and supports various projects to upgrade and improve the neighborhoods and commercial districts in the urban core, and the conveyance of these parcels of land are of value to Jackson County in that the projects are likely to combat the occurrence of blight in the urban core; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Land Trust Trustees be allowed to convey the following two (2) properties listed below, for amounts less than two-thirds market value to the City of Sugar Creek and to Lamberto Aguirre and for the purposes shown:

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
